Logitech Laptop Speaker Z205 - Great Portability with Good Sound Quality

Logitech Laptop Speaker Z205
I really like this product. I'm on the road so often I traded in my heavy laptop for smaller lighter Dell Llaptop but like all laptops when you give up size and weight you give up extra's such as good speakers. This is a great way to bridge the gap and enjoy movies and music while traveling.

The Logitech Z205 has some great features that you don't get in smaller laptops and even many of the bigger business class models.

Pros
  • Very light weight and portable.
  • Better than good sound quality for the size of the speaker.
  • The clip used to attach the unit to your laptop screen is rubberized to protect the laptops frame.
  • The unit can also be sat on a table because the clip also acts as a stand, very nice feature.
  • The speakers are powered by the USB cable so you don't need batteries.
  • The device has an audio jack in the back that you can plug an iPod or other music player into. You can also stream through your laptop via USB cable and charge your iPod at the same time.
  • Overall, a very nicely designed speaker system that someone put real thought into for form and function.

Cons
  • The protective case is a soft cover. I would have liked to see a hard cover to better protect the device while going through the airport.

Logitech has a really nice offering with the Z205 you won't get Bose quality sound however, you don't get Bose cost or weight out of it either so the trade off is very worth it.

X-Mini II Capsule Speaker - Amazing mini speaker

Received this item on time. The transaction went smoothly. The company that actually carries it is called Satechi. I did hesitate a bit before I order because I've never deal with them before. But now they gain my trust. They even sent out follow-up email and check and see if my order went well. That is good customer service.

After charging it, I immediately put it to use.

Listening to my iTune music was a bit awkward, I could clearly feel that the sound source is one, it is coming from one direction. All the music I played lost the stereo or surround effect. I feel like I was listening to some mono speaker on some old time radio. Maybe I need to get another one?

I switched to playing some movie. WOW! Now that's a total difference! Not only the mono feeling is gone, but also I felt some surround effect. And most importantly, it is loud. I can't believe how loud this tiny pod can be. Of course once I cranked the volume too high, it started losing sound quality and become scratchy. But I was just testing its limitation. So I'm good over that part. The fact is for a moment I got sucked into the movie (Iron Man) and forgot about that the sound was coming out from my new X-Mini II. It was simply too good!

I love this speaker. I've been using it for more than 12 hours since my first and only charge and still haven't completely drained the battery. I only use the audio cable because I wanted to see how often I need to recharge this mini sound droid.

I like the pouch idea. It is nice to take it outside and set it up with my laptop and iPod, and show off to my friends and hear them go "WOW".

X-Mini II Capsule Speaker - Best Buy Portable Speakers

Buying Portable Speakers for Laptops

If you'd like to enjoy listening to music while you're on the go, then you should consider some high quality portable speakers. The best portable speakers are designed so that you get to enjoy the best quality sound wherever you go. They are perfect for both outdoor use and travelling as they are typically lightweight and compact in size.

Portable speakers for computer systems are generally used for laptops or desktop machines, but it's quite possible to use them for a radio or mp3 player. Whenever you buy portable speakers, it's important that you look for a combination of style and quality.

The Different Kinds of Speakers

There are currently two types of these speakers for your computer system. The standard speakers are the most common type. They come with built-in bass and a 20 - 70Hz frequency range. The usual colours that you can pick these devices up in are gray, white and black.

If you are looking for stylish speakers, then novelty speakers are the thing for you. These types of speakers are creatively designed with cartoon or movie characters on them. There are even some that are able to light up.

Choosing the Right Speakers

When buying a set of speakers, there are a number of things that you should look for. The first thing you should look for is the speaker's tonal balance. The sound quality of the speakers should be crisp and clear, especially when played outdoors. It's also important that you don't sacrifice value for quality. Never settle for cheap speakers with inferior sound quality. Lastly, your speakers should be durable for outdoor usage.
